We’ve just been reading some great new research articles on mother-baby bonding. It’s amazing all the changes our bodies go through during pregnancy and nursing!
You can find the articles here on the “Scientific America” website.

A recent Lifeworks portrait capturing the bond
We always knew pregnant women look absolutely radiantly gorgeous, and the above-mentioned site explains the scientific reasons why!

Speaking of radiant!

Julie was invited to speak at seminars both here in Melbourne and interstate in Sydney and Brisbane earlier in the year.

Called “Secret Women’s Business”, the seminars were for both male and female photographers who run their own companies and need to juggle family, business and still have time for fun!
They were fantastic seminars with friendly photographers from all over, and all were very interested to see how Lifeworks operates and to see our new outdoor Studio.

Finally we met Susie’s gorgeous Archie over Easter.
He slept most of the time we were visiting, even through lunch! That’s normally the time all babies know to wake up and demand attention.
We captured some beautiful portraits of the new family and the little guy.
Welcome to a new Lifeworks Photography baby.

Lisa and Julie had a fantastic photo session on a farm in Gordon (towards Bendigo) recently.
It was a stunning Autumn afternoon and was so lovely to see the 4 beautiful sisters again we have photographed since they were all babies.

How cute do they all look? Like quadruplets, only they are 10, 9 and yes twins who are 8.

Julie was showing them where she wanted them all to stand and they piled on her for a photo

Talking of our fabulous Lifeworks Photography Outdoor Studio, much thought and hard work paid off when it was completed late last year .
We now have lots of different locations to visit all on our doorstep, hope to see you out there soon.

Fun on our boat jetty for Brendan, he was so cute in his blue boardies.

Darcy chuckled the whole session, we have photographed him and his older sisters many times and every photo session we have so much fun.

Maddison looks gorgeous in her flower halo near the antique garden gate.

Max hates having his photo taken, but didn’t mind this shoot at all, he even thought of bringing his headphones for the sk8er boy look.

Ruby looks like a fashion model in her warm parka.

They are just so quick and easy to make for such a great result.
It is very hard to eat just one…..

- Chocolate Macadamia Brownies
- 2 heaped teaspoons of instant coffee dissolved in 1/3 cup boiling water
- 180gm butter, chopped
- 250gm dark cooking chocolate, chopped
- 1 ½ cups plain flour, sifted
- ½ cup dark cocoa powder, sifted
- 1 ½ cups caster sugar
- 1 cup unsalted macadamia nuts, roughly chopped
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
Pre-heat oven to 1700 C. Line a rectangular tin with baking paper-with overhang at the long sides to allow removing the brownies easy. The tin I use is 32 X 22 cms.
Place the coffee mix, butter and chocolate in a medium pan - stir over a low heat until butter and chocolate are melted and the mixture is smooth-remove from heat and set aside.
Sift the flour and cocoa into a large bowl. Add the sugar and nuts, stir to combine. Make a well in the centre, add the chocolate mixture and the eggs and stir until well combined.
Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin- smooth the top with the back of a spoon until quite even. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Brownies are a fudgy texture – don’t overcook.
Remove from oven onto a wire rack to cool. Remove from the tin when completely cold and cut into squares. Enjoy !!!
Variation- You could also try different nuts – works well with pecans and walnuts as well
